Our story

MB Trust was founded by Mufti Baig on 5 July 2025. It began with a simple but serious concern: the amanah and trust people place in a charity must reach those who are truly entitled to it. This matters most with Zakat, because if Zakat is given to someone who is not eligible, the donor must give it again. That is why every family that receives Zakat through MB Trust is verified by a mufti.

The idea took shape during time Mufti Baig spent in Pakistan, where he saw families buying everyday necessities on credit. He wanted to create a channel of giving that was direct, trustworthy and faithful, where donors could be confident their money reached the right people.

What makes us different

We keep our operations lean, transparent and personally overseen. Our 100% donation policy means every pound you give to a designated appeal reaches the field. Running costs, payment fees and administration are covered by Gift Aid and volunteers, never by your donations.

The principles that guide us

Our work is guided by Islamic values: accountability to God and people, trustworthiness, and preserving people’s honour. These are not just ideals; they shape how we verify beneficiaries, manage funds and report back to donors.

Scholars and advisers

We consult trusted scholars on all faith-sensitive matters. This includes Mufti Baig, Mufti Shabbir Ahmed, head mufti of a madrassa in Sargodha, and Mufti Ahmed, an imam of a major Islamic institute in Gujrat.

Our programmes

We run a range of appeals across Pakistan, including monthly food packs, imam support, student scholarships, livelihoods, medical emergencies, masjid utility bills and hand pumps.
